Very Advanced Notice…

 

Our Regional Chairmen—Brian Reid is helping to arrange a JEC Day in the Midlands and the Regions Members are being asked to support him. . This will be held on September 4th at Silverstone. This is being planned to coincide with a JEC Race Meeting. David Manners will be sponsoring this event.  Please speak to Brian if you can help.

The Evening Run and Treasure Hunt.

This meeting was very disappointing.  Only 6 cars set off to do the run and unfortunately two of those had mechanical problems and did not complete the route.  To do well this event takes a lot of organisation and a fair amount of time, so to have such a poor turnout is a bit upsetting.  Perhaps this event has run its course, we’ve been doing it for over 20 years and the record turnout was 22 cars.  Last year there were 13 cars setting which is not too bad and is worth doing, but 6 are really not worth all the effort involved.  We will discuss it at committee and decide if we continue or replace the event with something else.  We do like to do things where we are active, we will examine all options.

Parade through Kenilworth for the Lions International June 12^th

A note to thank all those people who helped to make this parade a success.  I’m pleased to say that the parade was well supported this year with around 12 cars, that I’m told looked very impressive going down Kenilworth High Street.  The organisation was taken on by Mel Hyslop, so thanks Mel for making this happen for us.
